Sunday Golden Paddle
Fog . . . rain . . . sunny blue skies . . . rainbows . . . all accompanied Ohana paddlers and Coach David Wells from Chrissy Fields down to the Golden Gate Bridge and back. Calm water brought smiles to paddle boarders and scowls to any kite boarders in the area. Half a dozen Ohana members enjoyed Coach Wells' guidance and helpful hints as they soaked up the sights of the city and the bay along the way. One member (Hi Amie!) was on her very first Ohana excursion; the first of many, we hope!
Last But Not Least 2023 Tuesday FRL Practice
The wind helped determine Tuesday's Ohana FRL paddle. After warming they were good to go and headed to the wave attenuators in 11 knot winds. Once outside, the group paddled straight into the waves and wind and got as far as the rock wall before turning around and riding the waves in, enjoying the wind at their backs after lots of effort. Back to the lagoon to practice pivot turns, including cross draw pivot turns, and paddling using one's weight on the rails to go straight or to turn. Another beautiful fall sunset closed out the last Tuesday FRL of 2023 .
