ACA Membership & Waiver Instructions 

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Ohana Paddle Club (OPC)! If you’re here, it’s likely because one of our membership coordinators is getting you on the path to membership by emailing a link to this page.

To become an Ohana Paddle Club member, we need you to 

  1. join the American Canoe Association (ACA) and download your membership card,

  2. complete an ACA annual waiver that is affiliated with the Ohana Paddle Club and download a copy, and

  3. send us your copies of the membership card and annual waiver. 

OPC is a member of the ACA’s Paddle America Club (PAC) Insurance Program, which allows us to operate with general liability coverage at an affordable cost for our properly registered on-water activities such as trips and group paddles, and off-water activities such as social and learning events.

ACA membership is $40/year and helps support safe paddling and protection of waterways.

1. Join the ACA & download your membership card

Go to the ACA website membership page and select the option for individual membership:

Register, creating a username, password, etc. as prompted and select Ohana Paddle Club Inc from the list of affiliated clubs.

Follow the instructions to provide payment information and complete registration. When complete, navigate to the ACA home page by clicking on the logo in the top left corner. From the home page, click the Manage My Profile link on the lower right side.

On the profile management page, click the link to display your membership card.

Click the print button and use your computer’s print settings to save this as a PDF or image (jpg, png, etc.) on your desktop. Another options include taking a screenshot on your computer or with your phone.

2. complete & download an ACA annual waiver affiliated with OPC

To complete the ACA waiver,  you’ll need to know your ACA membership number, which is on your membership card.

Go to the ACA website waiver page and select the option for the online waiver:

A new website page will open with the ACA Waiver & Release of Liability form. Scroll through to read and make the appropriate selections.

When you arrive at the ACA Membership / Club Information section, be sure to select Ohana Paddle Club Inc from the Paddle Club America club names list and enter your ACA membership number.

Then, continue to the Event Information section and indicate that this is your Annual Waiver as instructed. The start date of activity will be the date you became an ACA member. The Sponsoring Club / Organization is Ohana Paddle Club.

Complete the remainder of the form and submit it. You will then receive an email with a notification to confirm your E-Signature on the waiver: follow the instructions provided in the email.

After you have confirmed your E-Signature, you will receive a confirmation email that contains a link to download the completed waiver. Click that link and save the waiver to your computer.

3. Send us your copies of the membership card and annual waiver

Reply to the email we sent you that contained the link to this page and attach your membership card and annual waiver. Send!
